Trailer Analysis on Sin City - Harris

This movie is one of my favourites and easily in my top 5. To see my top 50 list just go to harrismediablog.blogspot.com.. hehe

The trailer uses many effects to enhance the look and feel of the movie. Parallel sound is used to hype the audience and build their expectations. However, at certain points of important dialogue, the sound is cut the emphasise the importance of that bit of speech.

The whole movie is shot in black and white with important items in a bright outstanding colour. This creates enigma as the coloured items seem as if they will be part of the plot line. Also, all of the background is either computer generated or digitally enhanced to give a comic book feel. This links to the movie's genre and make for pretty good viewing.

The trailer also has text which is formed through the images shown. Through this the audience stay captivated and don't have t stop to read some font which doesn't fit in well with the trailer. The text that is used is related to the story to help enforce the message that the director wants the audience to receive.

Near the end, a flash up of all the cast members are shown to promote the movie further through big names.

We will be taking a lot from this movie trailer but it's technically not copying...
